Online Couples Counselling
People seek couples counselling for all sorts of reasons. It might be that one member of the couple has been unfaithful, or some behaviour has been discovered which is unacceptable to the other person; or it might be one of many other possibilities. Couples counselling is a reliable way to help couples sort out the problems that they have in their relationships. However, we tend to think of couples counselling as happening face-to-face. The truth is, online couples counselling can be just as useful and effective.
The online couples counselling method
I do online couples counselling (also called online relationship counselling). Like I do with face-to-face couples, I used Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) for online couples. This is a reliable, evidence-based approach to working with couples. It can quickly help you understand what's going on in your relationship and help you build new, supportive ways of interacting.
The particular power of this method is that it can help you see how you can easily get into a destructive pattern with your partner that just makes things worse and obscures the love you feel for each other.
We can do online couples counselling for all of our sessions, or we may have the occasional face-to-face couples counselling session, if you feel that suits you better. We can even do effective counselling when you are located in separate places.
Security and privacy
Your privacy is important to me. For this reason, I use an encrypted video counselling service that runs well with even modest hardware and bandwidth connections. It's easy to set up and get going.
If you're interested in an online couples counselling, have a look at what I've written about couples counselling and what I have written about the evidence base for online counselling in general. Or, give me a call on 0400 469 449, and we can have a chat about how I might be able to help you. There is no obligation and the first couples counselling session is free.
